Knowing Your Fear

Anyone that knows me also knows that I have an intense fear of needles. Seeing one in a room makes me shudder. Seeing any type of injection on TV makes me cringe and close my eyes. I simply can't watch! I have had too many shots in too many painful places to not have an issue with these devices of pain & tortue.

In thinking about it this afternoon I realized that it isn't needles that I'm afraid of, its strictly syringes. Those torturous "medical" devices "the man" uses to inflict pain and suffering on us.

Everytime I go to the Dr I get a shot.
Everytime. It's unnecesarry. It's brutal and I'm going to come out next time with post-traumatic stress! Either that or the Dr will after I give him the business end of the syringe instead. I'll show you where you can stick that thing!

Just syringes? So if I jammed a knitting needle into your leg you'd be fine?

I am not uncomfortable around anything but syringes. I'll even put knitting needles thru the top layer of my skin & play around with them.

I'm sure the 'jamming' would hurt but I wouldn't be afraid until you actually did it
